OUR
We are The Pearls of York County, an Official Interest Group of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®. We are comprised of thirty-two diverse and dynamic members, each of which have upheld the highest standards of excellence through our execution of sorority programs, dedication to serving our community, and the extraordinary example we set for our friends and families. By chartering a new chapter, we are laying the foundation for future generations of empowered women, leaving an enduring legacy of sisterhood and positive impact within our community. It is with this same zeal as we continue Soaring to Greater Heights of Service and Sisterhood.

Only Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® members may attend the chartering ceremony. Proof of active membership must be presented prior to entry. Doors will open at 9:50 a.m.

GETTING
Christopher Newport University is located at 1 University Place, Newport News, Virginia 23606. The celebrations will take place at The David Student Union on the second floor.
Airports | The Newport News-Williamsburg International Airport is 5.6 miles, and The Norfolk International Airport is 25.9 miles from Christopher Newport University.
There is also an Amtrak Train Station in Newport News and a Greyhound Bus Station in Hampton.
Visitor parking is located beside Paul Trible Library in Lot B. Once on University of The Arts, take the first exit in the roundabout onto University Place then continue straight on the brick road. Turn right at Trible Library, then take the first left into the parking lot. Visitor parking will be on your left. Golf cart transportation will be available at the corner of Paul Trible Library starting at 9:15 a.m. for guests in need of mobility assistance.
